Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Single Process Retouch.

Most appointments take 45 to 90 minutes depending on root regrowth, hair length, and required color formulation. Your stylist will assess your needs and provide an exact estimate before beginning the service and possible add-ons.

Single-process color can effectively cover most gray hair, but complete coverage depends on hair texture, gray density, and previous color. Our stylists will evaluate and recommend the best pigment strength or alternative service if fuller coverage is required.

Most clients return every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain consistent coverage and a polished root appearance. Frequency depends on growth rate, contrast between natural and colored hair, and desired maintenance level; your stylist will recommend a personalized schedule.

Minor shade adjustments are possible during a retouch, such as warming or toning the color. Major changes or lightening typically require a full-service color or additional processes; your stylist will advise the safest option for hair integrity.

A strand or patch test is recommended if you have had allergies, new products, or haven't colored recently. For routine maintenance clients with known tolerance, a full test may not be necessary; your stylist will determine what's needed for safety.

Use color-safe, sulfate-free shampoos, conditioning treatments, and UV protection sprays to extend vibrancy. Incorporate a weekly color-depositing mask and heat protectant before styling. Our stylists can recommend specific products matched to your shade and hair type.
